Vision Statement
We seek to enrich the lives of every person in North Dakota by providing relevant, engaging, accessible vocal concerts and outreach programs.

Mission Statement
Dakota Pro Musica aspires to Build Community through professional concerts that honor, highlight or enhance the celebrations, commemorations, and cultures of our community, and work to help people Raise their Voices through community outreach programming that reaches people who are underserved or marginalized within our community." Inclusivity and Accessibility Statement - Dakota Pro Musica believes that all people in our communities should find themselves reflected in some aspects of the work and values of the organization. We strive to select repertoire for concert programs so that people from various cultural and religious backgrounds, and personal identities may be honored throughout a season of programming. Dakota Pro Musica's work and its repertoire is not intended to promote any social, political, or religious movement or philosophy, but to highlight and honor the people, celebrations, commemorations, and cultures within our diverse community. Those within the organization and audience members with limited mobility are provided with all possible accommodations. We desire to have families attending our concerts and understand that children, especially babies, may make sounds during performances and welcome those sounds in our performing space. We aim to record and upload every concert so that people unable to attend a concert in person will still be able to experience our shared community. Dakota Pro Musica does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or physical ability, and is working to have musicians, board members, and audience that represent all people within our community. Land Acknowledgement - We acknowledge that our organization offers performances and outreach programs in venues that encompass the traditional tribal lands of Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, Turtle Mountain Chippewa, Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara, and other Indigenous people. We acknowledge, understand, and value that this land was, and is stewarded by the people who lived here before colonization and live here still.

About Us

Dakota Pro Musica was founded in October 2020 as a new chamber choir in the Bismarck-Mandan region. It was designed in the model of our professional choirs from across the US which create concerts using a short and concentrated rehearsal period for each concert series. In February 2021, Dakota Pro Musica was incorporated as a non-profit music and performing arts organization, and later received its 501(c)3 designation from the IRS. Since September 2021, all musicians have been paid for their work with Dakota Pro Musica, making us the first fully professional choral ensemble in North Dakota. Dakota Pro Musica believes that professional quality choral music can help build community through careful selection of repertoire on themes important to the larger community. We strive to bring our concerts to cities and towns across Central ND, and typically offer each of our concerts in 2-4 different places each concert series. We also work to make all of our concerts available for no admission cost so they are accessible to everyone in the community. Over the past 4 seasons we have offered concerts in Bismarck, Mandan, Jamestown, Dickinson, Minot, Belfield, Richardton, Washburn, and Fort Yates.
